Author
Katherine (Katy) Crapo is the author of Hello, Little One, a new picture book for parents, grandparents and children. After a career in higher education administration, she is enjoying her retirement and has seized the opportunity to try new things. She has always enjoyed writing and dabbled in creative writing off and on over the years. In fact, parts of two mysteries, along with ideas for other children’s books, are currently collecting virtual dust.
Things changed, however, when Katy learned that she was about to become a grandmother. What could she give the Little One? In an “aha moment,” Katy decided to write a book for the baby. There was so much she wanted to share; mainly she wanted to introduce the Little One to its small world. Hello, Little One is both personal and universal.
Katy, a native of Dearborn, Michigan, began her southern migration in 1995 with her husband, Paul and their two daughters, where they spent 15 years in Martin, TN. In 2010, Katy and Paul continued their southern journey, landing in Athens, GA.
When they are not visiting their own Little One, Katy and Paul enjoy University of Georgia concerts, travel, mountain hikes, exploring Atlanta’s food and music scene, sharing cooking activities and neighborhood walks. Katy loves working out at her local YMCA, where she indulges in spin classes, strength training and yoga. Her guilty pleasure is her private yoga lessons.
